Director Statement

The Burden is a visual reflection of existence, belonging, and the quiet weight each of us carries. Through symbolic imagery and a solitary voice, the film explores the cycle of arrival, endurance, and release — and the endless search for home.

Festival Screenings & Awards

The Burden has been screened at festivals and events including Animafest Gdańsk (Poland), Chaniartoon Festival(Greece), Ottawa Canadian Film Festival (OCan), Toronto Outdoor Picture Show (TOPS), Lethbridge International Film Festival, Canadian Independent Film Festival (CIFF), and the New York Indie Short Awards, as well as at screenings in Barcelona, Rome, Los Angeles, and Tokyo. The film also received the Best Director award at the Swedish Cinema House Film Festival.
